Diving!

One of the most interesting things I've done since arriving in Australia is getting my open water scuba diving licence. The course was a blast and I made some of my first friends here. I'll go into more detail later, but here's some quick images in the mean time.... (during the meanwhilst?)

Suiting up for our first open water dive. We did the first part of our training in a pool (for 2 days), and this was the first time we'd been in the ocean. The training came in damn handy! Most of us had mask-shaped sunburns on our faces by the end of the day.

Chillin' in a pub after certification. We're all divers now!

Some fish. First time using my underwater camera underwater. The actual prints look much better than these scans I got from the photo developing place.

Look at me! I'm breathing underwater! I look so Bond! :)

A starfish I saw. I know, I need to work on my composition a little. Taking photos underwater is surprisingly difficult: there's nothing to hold on to to steady yourself. It's something I'll hopefully get lots of chances to practice!
